The parks are Dual World Heritage-listed Tongariro National Park and Whanganui National Park.
Ohakune - apres ski capital of the North Island.
Whakapapa Village - located within the beautiful National Park.
Skiing; boarding; heli skiing. Back country and glacier skiing accessable from lifts (no hiking!).
If you want to sample the local nightlife, Ohakune Village is a lively choice. During the winter months, the town's bars, cafes and chalets fill with skiers and the entertainment keeps going into the wee hours.
